About.

Whispering Woods Therapy (WWT) was founded in 2024 by Andrea Clubbe, Occupational Therapist, to meet the growing needs for neurodiversity-affirming and LGBTQ+ Occupational Therapy services in Ontario. We focus on supporting individuals where they are at, and what their strengths are in order to reach their full potential.

We are mainly providing virtual services at this time. With hopes to expand in the future.

In-person appointments are by request only (within York Region).

Andrea Clubbe, OT Reg. (Ont.)
Founder of Whispering Woods Therapy

Andrea (she/her) is a registered Occupational Therapist (OT) with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO) and is a member of the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists (OSOT).

Andrea graduated with her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Queen’s University in 2016, following a Bachelor of Health Science Honours Kinesiology from University of Ontario Institute of Technology. She has also completed her Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Certification.

She started her path to becoming an OT by completing a high school co-op at Grandview Children’s Centre where she then transitioned to work as Recreation Assistant, Camp Counsellor and Head Programmer at the centres’ recreation and summer camp programs for children and youth with special needs. Following this, she transitioned to work as an Outdoor Educator at Kinark Outdoor Centre that supported children, youth and families with Autism to have a safe, adventurous outdoor experience. This included supporting participation in hikes, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, rock climbing, high ropes, and crafts.

Andrea has a passion for inclusion, accessibility, and meaningful participation in ones’ life activities – play, school, community, or work. She loves supporting individuals with varying needs to play in nature and participate in their passions without limits. Throughout her career, she has worked at a few Children’s Treatment Centre’s across Ontario (Thunder Bay & Peterborough/Lindsay), in hospitals (Parry Sound) and community.

She has 14 years of experience working with individuals with varying disabilities and complex social-emotional needs. This includes, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Developmental Delay, Cerebral Palsy, Learning disabilities, Sensory processing challenges, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, Spinal Cord Injury, etc.

In recent years, she has realized there is a gap in services provided to youth and adults across the province who are Neurodiverse and/or require an LGBTQ+ safe space. This is why she has created this private practice.

In her spare-time she enjoys hiking, gardening, playing and exploring with her daughter, and crafting.
